At only 5’8” in length, this beautiful grand is small enough to fit in most living rooms, yet still yields a rich, satisfying tone for its size. In the 1980s, Baldwin partnered with Samick to manufacture Baldwin’s Howard line of pianos in Korea. This piano is one such example. This super-clean piano is all original, including the original action parts, which have minimal wear, suggesting a life of very little use up to this point. Since the early 2000s, Baldwin pianos have been made in China and bear little resemblance to the Baldwin pianos that preceded them, in our opinion. However, if you felt compelled to buy a new polished ebony Baldwin grand in this size, your closest option would be the model BP177, a 5’9″ grand priced at $36,785. Or, you could buy this wonderful for $6,898. We’ll let you decide which is the more sensible choice.
