For the person who wants something other than the ubiquitous ebony finish seen on most pianos, without spending a fortune for a woodgrain finish, this piano is tough to beat. This wonderful example of Kawai workmanship offers a rarely seen satin walnut finish, is all original and in excellent condition, ready to serve its new owner for decades to come. The Kawai KG series earned Kawai the international reputation for excellence they still enjoy today. Known for having a rich, smooth tone and very responsive keyboard, the Kawai KG series is ranked among the best grand piano values in the world by Larry Fine, Registered Piano Technician and author of The Piano Book and its successor, the Piano Buyer. Of course, if you feel irresistibly compelled to have a new piano, unfortunately, Kawai does not currently offer their modern equivalent model to this piano in any finish other than ebony. That model, the GX-3, is currently priced at $63,095. Even with a generous discount, you would end up paying 3-4 times the price of this piano to get a new Kawai GX-3 WITHOUT the stunning walnut finish this piano has to offer. Why would anyone do that? We don’t know either!
