Kawai pianos are a staple of our inventory, along with their competitor, Yamaha. Kawai and Yamaha have been competing in the same city, Hamamatsu, Japan, since 1927 and have never managed to put each other out of business. Still, Kawai is the smaller of the two companies and makes fewer pianos than Yamaha, so fewer used Kawai pianos come through our shop than Yamaha pianos. However, they are wonderful-sounding and playing pianos that are recommended by as many piano teachers as Yamaha. This piano was built in 1966 and remains in remarkable condition even for a much younger piano. Plus, it received all new tuning pins and strings approximately 20 years ago, so it has many good years ahead of it. This piano is a great first piano to get lessons underway. Why buy new??
