Description

Built between 1991 and 1995, the Kawai NX series was a concept series from Kawai that ushered in their new flagship grand piano line, the RX series. The two series are nearly indistinguishable even to experienced piano technicians. Easily equal to Yamaha’s Conservatory Series grands, the NX series was then and remains highly respected and requested by pianists and teachers today. One only needs to play this magnificent piano for a few minutes to understand why. It exudes quality, attention to detail, and refinement. This model is small enough to fit in most living rooms, but sufficiently large and refined to serve in a home teaching studio or as the personal practice piano of a professional pianist. Kawai pianos built since the late 1970s are known for their ABS action parts, which are stronger than wood and do not react to humidity changes. They are possibly the most durable and trouble-free piano action ever built. For the sake of comparison, the modern Kawai successor to this model, the GX-3, is priced at $63,095 with the least expensive ebony finish seen here. Somewhere in America, someone is forking over this kind of money for a new Kawai grand because he/she does not know about pianos like this at our shop. Aren’t you glad that person is not you?
