Petrof pianos are prized by pianists, teachers and advanced students who tend to put serious mileage on their pianos. However, the absence of wear on this piano indicates that it was probably someone’s trophy piano. In any case, it was barely used and could pass for a new piano, inside and out. We rarely see used pianos made by this wonderful Czechoslovakian piano maker. They are often requested by Russian and European-trained classical pianists and teachers, many of whom grew up playing on Petrof pianos. The German Renner action on this beautiful grand blows away many other grand pianos in this price range. It has a distinctive European sound and exceptionally responsive keyboard. The more you put into it, the more it gives back. If you shopped for new Petrof pianos recently, then you know that a new ebony Petrof P 194, the present day equivalent of this model, sells new for over $83K!! You buy two like ours for the cost of one new one and still have a have enough money left over to take a nice European vacation, stay in nice hotels, eat in fancy restaurants, and even take your piano along with you!! While you’re thinking about that, think about this: A Petrof grand is a very rare thing in our world of used pianos, so don’t expect it to stay in our inventory for very long, especially at this price.
