It’s rare that we ever buy or sell old upright pianos. Once in a great while, we find an old upright that’s worth the time and effort to preserve for future generations. In the case of this gently-used and extremely well-maintained Steinway “Vertigrand”, it didn’t take as much as one might expect to restore this piano to peak form. Aside from some cosmetic touch-up to the cabinetry, this remarkable piano is 100% original and still has a lot of life left in it. We concluded that it would be unnecessary to replace all the original parts just for the sake of saying that we had done so. Plus, doing so also would have increased the price of the piano dramatically, which we chose not to do as well. This piano looks, sounds, plays, and tunes exceptionally well for a piano even half its age, with a tone that is uniquely unlike any modern piano.
