5’3″ baby grand

Lovely satin walnut cabinet with adjustable artist bench

In stock

When this piano was built in 1966, the model G1 was Yamaha’s top-of-the-line baby grand model. We try to stock as many Yamaha G1 models as we can, but they almost always have the ebony finish. Non-ebony Yamaha baby grands like this are hard to find and always a welcome treat to our customers who typically snap them up as fast as we can get them set up. This piano is priced modestly at under $8K, a rare thing for a Japanese-made grand in this store, mainly because we didn’t have to pay as much to acquire this piano due to its age. However, the price is the ONLY clue to the piano’s age, because, in every other way, this piano looks as good or better than pianos half its age and the vital inner parts are in amazingly fresh condition with many years of useful life still ahead. The MSRP on Yamaha’s comparable present-day model with the more expensive satin walnut finish is a gut-wrenching $46,369! Even if you got a very generous discount from a new Yamaha dealer, you would still end up paying 2-3 times the price of this piano. This piano is a first-class musical instrument with a touch that is smooth and responsive and a tone that is crisp and bright without being harsh. This piano is a perfect example of why customers from all over the U.S.A. choose to make us their piano store. This piano will give you many years of enjoyment and you save thousands. Why buy new?
