From time to time in our upright piano inventory, you may notice Yamaha uprights like this model, which is essentially a high-performance version of an existing model, like the U1 in this case. Sometimes the difference is like night and day, and other times the difference is more subtle, but in our opinion, each one offers an upgrade in tone and touch from the basic U1. We often jokingly refer to Yamaha models like this as being like a U1 on steroids.
