It would be a mistake to think of this piano as “old”. This piano is a testament not only to Yamaha’s long tradition of making solid, good-quality pianos but also to the longevity of pianos in general. Most pianos can easily achieve a human lifespan of 80-100 years before needing to be rebuilt or retired. This piano has a new set of tuning pins to maximize tuning stability, but otherwise is all original, including the original Yamaha hammers and action parts, which reveal barely any wear at all, epitomizing the classic adage, “It’s not the years, it’s the mileage”. The cabinet is NOT cosmetically perfect compared to the rest of our inventory, which is why this piano is priced lower than any other Yamaha U3 in our inventory. The Yamaha U3 model is constantly in demand in our shop largely due to piano teachers recommending this model to their students more than any other vertical model except the smaller, lower-priced Yamaha U1 (think of the U3 model as a larger, more powerful U1).
