Wonderful shop that restores name brand pianos. We bought our second one there today. Unfortunately, he's closing May 31. Free delivery and free tuning. Only a few pianos remain.

I had the best experience with Rick Jones Pianos. I found their website about a year ago and had been slowly saving up money to buy my first piano. I love that every piano on their website has a video of Rick or another staff member playing the piano and talking about the history, touch, tone, feel, etc. but also the store policies and other FAQs.

When I finally had enough money saved and a few pianos in mind I wanted to look at, I headed up to the store, and was greeted by the incredibly friendly staff. They let me know I could walk around and touch and play every piano in the store and they left me alone to fiddle around and I felt so comfortable in making my decision. No one tried to force me into anything, and it really came down to what I was comfortable with.

With that being said, you can’t beat the prices anywhere. Yes, Facebook Marketplace has “free” pianos, but I couldn’t trust those because some have been sitting in garages and untouched for decades, where as Rick Jones has refurbished and taken care of every piano in the store. And free shipping within 100 miles! Anywhere else you would have to pay a minimum of $600 for shipping, and piano movers in my experience are not easy to work with.

I have to say I got a great deal on my piano and I’m absolutely in love. I have no regrets and I would definitely recommend Rick Jones to anyone looking for a piano, especially a starter piano if you don’t want to spend tens of thousands of dollars. Thank you, Rick Jones, for bringing this beautiful instrument into my life.

Right after I purchased a piano in July 2022, I ran into a number of personal challenges which prevented me from taking delivery of my Bosendorfer. Rick offered to store it for me for free while I worked things out. It took almost 3 years but I just got my piano delivered from Maryland down here to Charleston, SC. Al and his mover team did an amazing job of moving a 1000 pound grand piano. There was not a scratch on it and it arrived in the exact condition I bought it in. I checked in regularly and offered to pay a storage fee but Rick declined. The humidifier system RJ pianos put on is amazing!

I can't say enough good things about Rick Jones pianos. They are a unique gem of a business with unmatched customer service. I know Rick offers an upgrade program but he is not getting my Bosendorfer 225 grand piano back....unless he stumbles upon an imperial grand Bosendorfer. In that case, Rick, please call me! I joined the Rick Jones Pianos mailing list at least 15+ years ago to watch for my dream piano manufacturer (Bosendorfer) to come in stock. After missing one in Fall 2017, another one showed up 3 weeks ago (It just so happens that it is the same model I played in college 30 years ago), so I decided to make my first trip to the showroom with my daughter this past weekend.

The showroom has many different types of pianos to play with, and there is even a sign at the front door that says "Please Touch Everything." I was hesitant to play such an expensive piano (I just wanted to see it); however, Paul told me to go ahead without hesitation. I played on it for over 30 minutes, and my daughter got to along with some beautiful Steinways.

There was ZERO pressure to purchase something, unlike many other stores I have been to in Northern Virginia. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the informational videos on each piano listing online are fantastic. They do a great job of describing the piano, background, action, etc. I am sure they take a lot of time to do; however, they are extremely helpful.

It was closing time, and as we were walking out of the store, the staff working in the maintenance shop turned their classical music back on (which they turned off while I was playing), and it immediately struck me. The one regret I have after all the years of classical lessons, concerts, and piano competitions is that I never played a piano concerto. The one I always wanted to play was Mozart's Piano Concerto #20 in D Minor K. 466, the exact piece that started to play as we left. It's a sign I need to buy that piano I told my daughter. Spooky!

Wonderful experience with Rick Jones Pianos. Great description and video of Rick playing our console type F Stienway console. Daryl delivered it and moved our old Wurlitzer to the basement flawlessly. And shared a few clean jokes too. So Happy with our purchase. Looks and sounds great and was personaly tuned by Rick himself.

However when catastrophic life circumstances occurred they were able to help our family work through the process and were exceptionally kind and understanding. Just received delivery of a "new to me" used Kawai 49" upright from Rick Jones. Their website is one of the most comprehensive online for used pianos, with a description, video of the piano being played, multiple pictures, dimensions, model and year. I was impressed when I toured the vast warehouse. I had done some research and had narrowed my potential selection down to 4 uprights. Jeremy played several of the pianos so I could step back and listen. Sophia offered to place one piano on a 24 hr hold for me, which I did. I decided a day later, based on our home's heating system that purchasing a climate control system would be the way to go. Kathleen processed that purchase via telephone for me the next day. We got our free Rick Jones T shirts by mail and waited for our scheduled delivery. The company called ahead the night before to pinpoint delivery in a 2 hr time frame, and arrived on time. The crew was careful and professional. The only glitch was they left without starting up the climate control system. No worries, I called Sophia and was connected to a technician who walked us through turning it on, filling the tank, and voila we were ready to enjoy our purchase. We bought sight unseen. We have never visited the store or met the staff. There are three items that immediately reveal an outstanding business: ten year warranty, lifetime upgrade, and the nationwide reviews. Only supreme confidence in your product and staff lead to such rarely offered guarantees and lead to such great reviews. We bought an expensive Yamaha upright. It’s not a decision or investment that anyone takes lightly.
Imagine our (lack of) surprise when a stunningly beautiful, well tuned, rich toned, piano was expertly delivered and placed. It’s a 1970 Yamaha model, and my maestro and expert wife believes it has not years, but many decades of life remaining. The piano not only adds visual beauty to our home, the sound is wonderful and we have full confidence in its future. We absolutely love it. Our guests are mesmerized by it.

Rick Jones Pianos are the best in the area. There warranty is well above what anyone else. We had a squeaky peddle that a PGT couldn’t fix and Melvin R, from Rick Jones Pianos drove up to fix the problem. Very impressed with the quality and caliber of technicians and Melvin is an excellent piano technician. We have and will continue to recommend Rick Jones Pianos to anyone who wants the best piano and service warranty, not one or three or five year warranty, they give a 10 year warranty on all used pianos and if you decide to trade your piano in that you purchased from Rick Jones Pianos, you can and get the best price that you paid for the piano. This store must be first on your list if shopping for a used piano! Purchased a Kawai upright 52in from them and it was a great experience. Piano movers delivered it quickly and professionally and it arrived without a scratch. Rick and his team were extremely helpful and yet not intrusive. I played many of their pianos (including a Steinway D🤩) for several hours uninterrupted, except when they asked if I want coffee which was very nice! Prices are excellent considering that all their pianos are in great condition and many haven’t been overplayed by all appearances. Give this place a visit if you’re piano shopping.. you will not regret it!

You guys. Rick and he’s team were such a pleasure to get to know! Their store policies can’t be beat, and the prices seem very fair! We just moved to the DC area and we had to trade in our grand for an upright because our living room was too small. I will always get my pianos through this company from now on. Beautiful refurbished Pianos, back to tip top shape! We almost bought an Everett made in the 70s because it sounded so beautiful. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they encourage you take your time and play every key in the warehouse. Rick is so friendly and the epitome of a great small business. Their warrantee, trade up program and quality of pianos are things you can't miss out on whether you're looking for a starter piano (like us) or an elegant grand piano.

I would like to preface with a short background on how we came to do business with Rick Jones Pianos. My wife and I love to listen to piano music and she has wanted a player style piano for many years. We always assumed that they would be too expensive. Forward to May 2021 when she found Rick Jones Pianos. They had a very nice Yamaha Disklavier upright that was within our budget.

We made contact with Paul and setup an appointment. Sofie placed a hold on the piano for us. Rick personally met us and gave us an in-depth demonstration. We happened to catch the Memorial Day sale and that made it even better. Sofie handled the transaction and we where happy Yamaha piano owners! The delivery was smooth and professional. We have been listening to our piano almost daily. We discovered an iPhone app that allows you to stream music directly to the piano. We highly recommend Rick Jones Pianos! If your in the market make them your first and only stop!
